Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce
& Industry (FICCI) with the support
of Ministry of Human Resource Development,
Government of India organized FICCI Higher
Education Summit 2009, a two day Global
Conference, on November 6 & 7, 2009
at FICCI, Federation House, New Delhi on
the theme "Imperatives for Higher
Education: Inclusion, Expansion & Excellence".
- Mr Kapil Sibal, Hon'ble Union Minister
for Human Resource Development, Government
of India had inaugurated the Summit and
Prof Richard Levin, President, Yale University
had delivered the Keynote Address at the
Inaugural Session.
- USA was the Partner Country and USIEF
(United States- India Educational Foundation)
Partner Organization with 31 US Delegates
participating. SDI (Scottish Development
International) was the other Partner Organization
with 13 delegates from leading Scottish
Universities/ Higher Educational Institutions
participating in the Summit.
- Total Number of Participation: 630 Delegates
- International Delegate Participation
- 100 Delegates from 7 countries viz.
USA, Canada, Australia, Kenya, Scotland,
Ireland, UK
- Participation from Embassy/High Commission-
26 Countries
- Government Participation from 7 States
Viz. Delhi, Rajasthan, Orissa, Gujarat,
Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra
- 34 Higher Educational Institutions showcased
their products and services at the Exhibition
- 250 B2Bs were organized in the Summit.
- Total number of Exhibitors was 36 out
of which 10 were leading Universities
of USA
- Registered Schools and College Students
in Exhibition - 2680 confirmed students
