FICCI organized a two day Higher Education Summit "Private Higher Education: Opportunities and Challenges" in partnership with UK on March 23 & 24, 2006 at FICCI, New Delhi. The event was supported by University Grant Commission, Government of India, and Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) was the Knowledge Partner.

• Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Hon'ble Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Government of India, and Prof Lawrence H Summers, President, Harvard University were the Keynote Speakers at the Summit.
  
• About 350 delegates from domestic and foreign higher education sector participated in the Summit.
