FICCI
organized a two day Higher Education Summit " The Higher Education Summit:
Roadmap for the Future" on December 1 & 2, 2004 at FICCI, New Delhi.
The event was supported by University Grant Commission, Government of India
and the Knowledge Paper was developed by the then National Institute of Educational
Planning and Administration (NIEPA).

John L Hennessy, President, Stanford University, delivered the Keynote Address
at the Conference
- The other key speakers
at the Summit were Prof Arun Nigavekar, Chairman, University Grants Commission,
and Dr Kirit S Parikh, Member, Planning Commission.
- About
200 delegates from domestic and foreign higher education
sector participated in the Summit.
